The $100 million bet from Netflix. The story of Queen Elizabeth II, the destruction of the woman she was before becoming royalty, and the replacement of that woman with a monarch. If you haven’t yet, it’s time to binge The Crown.
The Crown is a period drama and is Netflix’s attempt to capitalize on the popularity of shows like Downton Abbey and to a lesser extent Peaky Blinders. Season one hit Netflix in November 2016, and Netflix has confirmed a second season. Filming is allegedly underway in London right now. Our best guess for a Season two release date is December 2017. But for now, binge The Crown season one to your heart’s content with the comfort that there’s plenty more binge to be had here.
The first season is the story of the beginning of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign of the United Kingdom. The Crown follows gives us an inside look at Queen Elizabeth II starting just before her wedding in 1947. The plan is for six seasons that will bring the story right up to the present day.

Binge the Crown – Is it worth it?
Here’s the bottom line on The Crown. If you’re looking for an exciting, heart pounding drama with tons of violence, sex, and messiness, this is NOT the show for you. If you want to see Claire Foy, the actress who plays Queen Elizabeth, kill it by pulling you into the struggle between being a queen and being a young woman all with crazy good cinematography, then this is a great watch.
